Vatiswa Ndara stays ‘Unfiltered’ with tell all book

Legendary actress Vatiswa Ndara is ready to bare it all regarding her career in the entertainment industry which can be seen as being cut short prematurely.

The award- winning actress and radio personality who brought to life iconic roles on shows such as ‘Igazi’ and ‘Muvhango’ amongst others has penned her memoirs to be released 30 October 2025.

The actress who describes her career as ‘filled with triumphs but also hardships’ has officially exited the South African entertainment industry after many public disputes with prominent production companies.

Her decision to bow out of the industry in 2019 was a result of her being blacklisted within the industry after an open letter written to then Minister of Arts & Culture the late Nathi Mthethwa.

This was evident when the casting began for a show on a popular streaming network. She was shortlisted as one of the first guests but producers decided not to cast her.

The viewers who fell in love with Vatiswa’s acting skills have called for her return to television. This has sparked the debate, who has more power the viewers or producers.

She admits that she is willing to venture into acting again but not within the local industry.

This is saddening because she states that she would have loved to play a political figure fighting corruption within the public and private sector.

This would clearly be drawing on her experience within the entertainment industry.

The book also carries the hope of changing the narrative surrounding her career and story which has been retold by rumours which led to public scandals.

The book is her telling her side of the story. She also hopes aspiring actors will learn not to find themselves within the toxic environments that she unfortunately ended up in.

She also wants them to wake up to the realization that the local entertainment industry is tough and needs one to be strong and be ready for the challenges ahead.

Her next move? Well she says the following;

“Finding utter and complete peace and seeing where the next chapter of my life takes me”

‘Unfiltered’ will be available from 30 October 2025.
