We love everything to do with nature. Africa is where you can get as close to nature as possible. The waterfalls, the animals, the rivers, the beaches, the birds (ask USA artist Pharell Williams), the trees, agriculture, the smell of fresh rain and more. You want that Safari tour? Kenya is where you’ll have one of the best safari experiences in the world.
Let’s look at what Kenya has to offer with their 7 day Safari tour.
Amboseli National Park – The Masai Mara
When you think of embarking on a classic safari, Kenya is often near the top of the list as one of the best places to experience that once-in-a-lifetime wildlife adventure. With this itinerary you’ll discover exclusive wilderness areas including the most famous reserve in Kenya: The Masai Mara. It’s particularly excellent for seeing lion and cheetah, among a number of other animals. At the end of the day, it doesn’t get more classic than this!
Highlights:
- A classic big game safari
- Elephants in Amboseli National Park, with Mt Kilimanjaro overseeing the entire experience
- The world famous Masai Mara Reserve
- Private conservancies that allow both walking and night safaris
Day 1-2: Exploring the Selenkay Conservancy, a Masai village & Amboseli National Park
Get picked up in the early morning of the first day from your Nairobi hotel and transferred to Selenkay Conservancy. The journey will take roughly four hours after which you’ll arrive for lunch. Following afternoon tea, you’ll be escorted by a Masai warrior on a walk to a nearby authentic village during which you’ll gain some insight into the fascinating culture and way of life of the Masai people. Return to camp for dinner and your overnight.
In the southern part of Kenya’s Rift Valley Province lies one of the greatest spots in Africa to witness free-ranging elephants: Amboseli National Park. One of only two premium parks in Kenya, the landscape is ideal for encountering the wide array of wildlife known to the area, all while enjoying spectacular views of the great Mount Kilimanjaro. After an early breakfast on the second day, you’ll drive to Amboseli National Park for a morning game drive followed by a delicious picnic lunch. Return to camp to enjoy dinner, after which you’ll hop on a game vehicle and depart on your night game drive. A spotlight will be used to seek out some of the nocturnal animals that call the park home, including aardvarks, bat-eared foxes, serval cats and more.
Day 3-4: Discover the Olkinyei Conservancy & Masai Mara
Awake in the morning to the natural sounds and calls of the abundant birdlife. Following breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Nairobi for lunch and then on to catch an afternoon flight to the Mara. Enjoy an afternoon game drive, followed by a sundowner and night game drive on the way back to camp for dinner and an overnight.
Day 4 offers the option of a balloon safari and delicious champagne breakfast. A full day spent in the Masai Mara with game drives in 4×4 vehicles (not vans) is then on the cards, followed by dinner in the evening, a night game drive and overnight. Whilst not the largest, the Masai Mara is certainly the most famous nature reserve in Kenya and for good reason. This world-renowned nature reserve has forged a strong reputation for its large number of predators and excellent game viewing opportunities.
Day 5-6: A visit to Olare Motorogi Conservancy
Nothing starts the day right like a morning walk in the Ol Kinyei Conservancy. After breakfast you’ll leave camp and spend the day game viewing in the famous Masai Mara Reserve. You’ll stop to enjoy a picnic lunch in the open before moving on to your next camp, arriving in the late afternoon. Later in the evening, indulge in a sundowner in the Olare Motorogi Conservancy followed by a night drive. Dinner ends off another magical day in the bush.
Day 6 sees you partaking in a morning and afternoon game drive in the exclusive Olare Motorogi Conservancy, away from the minibuses and tourist vehicles often seen in the park. Less congestion makes for a more pleasurable wildlife viewing experience and increases your already excellent chances of sighting lions, leopards and cheetahs. A sundowner rounds out the day nicely followed by a final night game drive.
Day 7: Safari ends in Nairobi
Enjoy a final early morning game drive in the conservancy as well as a hearty breakfast. You’’ll then be transferred mid-morning to the airstrip and to catch your flight back to Nairobi.
