I had never attended the IdolsSA live show before, so when I was asked to experience it VIP Style in a Ford Fiesta, there was no way I could have said ‘NO’. I was definitely looking forward to that experience, and I decided to invite a close friend of mine who is a true Idols fan and has never missed an episode all these years.
We made our way to the Pretoria State Theatre, which happens to be the home for Idols South Africa’s live show. On our way we had to stop and pose for pictures.
Who doesn’t love pictures? Definitely not some of us. We capture everything. That’s the beauty of it nowadays. You put everything on record, YOUR records and decide what you do with it. 🙂
Touch down at the State Theatre and arrived to some food and refreshments before the live show. It was a new environment for me so I was very curious and looking forward to experiencing everything.
Ford is the official car partner to IdolsSA. Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa (FMCSA) has extended the Fiesta range with the fitment of the award-winning 1.0 EcoBoost engine across a wider range of models, and the addition of a further two 1.0 EcoBoost models equipped with the advanced PowerShift automatic transmission. My fav!! Hehehe
“We have extended the superb 1.0 EcoBoost engine to more models to offer our customers improved performance, lower fuel consumption and reduced emissions. The advanced PowerShift automatic transmission is now available across all three specification grades, ensuring that we’re able to satisfy the growing demand for compact automatic models. At the same time, we have revised the pricing of the Fiesta 1.0 EcoBoost models to make it even more attractive. The Fiesta, therefore, offers even better value for money and makes Ford’s popular B-segment hatchback more appealing than ever.” says Tracey Delate, General Marketing Manager, Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa.
The 1.0 EcoBoost won International Engine of the Year for three years in a row (2012 to 2014), and offers exceptional performance matched to frugal consumption. It is now also available in the new Fiesta 1.0 EcoBoost PowerShift Ambiente, an entry-level model with the sophisticated six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission for seamless power delivery and rapid shifts.
The 1.0 EcoBoost Ambiente is available in the manual transmission as well. The Fiesta 1.0 EcoBoost Titanium is also now available with the PowerShift transmission, thus providing the option of manual or automatic derivatives across the entire range in Ambiente, Trend and Titanium versions.
All models are sold with a four-year/120 000km comprehensive warranty, four-year/60 000km service plan, three-year/unlimited km roadside assistance and five-year/unlimited km corrosion warranty. Service intervals are every 20 000km on the EcoBoost petrol engines, and 15 000km for the TDCi derivatives.
I drove this Ford Fiesta for a week. I loved it because among other features, it is light on fuel. That’s what one worries about the most these days. Fuel is very expensive. Thank you Ford South Africa and Meropa Communications for another joy ride. You made my first IdolsSA very memorable.

I have never driven a small Auto car. I always go for Manual but the way traffic gets the best of me is pushing me to switch.
