South African Kwaito star, Brickz has been sentenced to 15years for raping his niece. Sipho Ndlovu popuarly known as Brickz, was found guilty of rape in July, and today the judge gave him 15years at the Roodepoort magistrate’s court in Johannesburg.
Judge John Baloyi said the Kwaito star hasn’t shown any remorse for the crime he committed and is not suitable for rehabilitation. His leave to appeal his conviction and sentence has also been denied.
In 2013, Brickz infected his niece with an STD and also threatened to kill her if she told anyone bout the rape. The victim is now 21years old and she was helped by Brickz’s wife Nqobile Ndlovu to open a case and lay charges against the star.
The issue of Brickz and rape took another twist when South African poet, Ntsiki Mazwai went on social media a few weeks ago and broke her own silence. She revealed that she had also been raped by the Kwaito star. Shocking! Ntsiki is the young sister of musician Thandiswa Mazwai. If this is true, then we don’t know how many people Brickz has raped in the past and they chose to keep quiet. If a person can rape a minor who knows what else they are capable of? I am disgusted.
15years is not a lot considering the victim was a minor at the time. Rape is NOT an accident. There shouldn’t be any sympathy or lenience towards any rapist, especially those who take advantage of young girls and boys. What the girl lost during that ordeal, is something she will never get back. She in now stuck with emotional and physical scars for the rest of her life. Such heartless and barbaric acts deserve nothing less than a death penalty or life in prison, if not – cut his damn manhood off.
