South Africa is mourning one of its legends. Yesterday we woke up to sad news that the legendary Ray Phiri had passed on. Ntate Ray had been in hospital fighting for his life due to lung cancer.

At 70, he was a well-respected man for his craft, not just in South Africa or Africa but in the entire world. His music remains timeless. May his soul rest in peace. *as we wait for another Bataung tombstone* If you missed my interview with Lebo the owner, read it HERE

The USA is also mourning one of their own. True Blood actor Nelsan Ellis also lost his life a few days ago, due to heart failure complications. It’s really sad because Nelsan was only 39years old.

Still on lives lost news. Letshego Zulu has headed back to Tanzania to summit Mount Kilimanjaro. Letshego is the wife of the late Gugu Zulu, a South African racer who died last year while trying to summit the same mountain. His wife said she is going to do it for her late hubby. The #trek4Mandela #Caring4Girls crew has landed in Tanzania to get the show on the road this time it’s #Climb4Gugu. I must say Letshego is brave and very strong. I don’t know if I’d think of going through with something like this. I am a coward and don’t even dream of trying to summit any mountain at any point in my life, now imagine going there after losing a person that’s dear to you? OMG! Wishing all the climbers a safe one.

Moving on to crazy reality news. The Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna drama is just too messy. There is too much pettiness in that world it makes you feel sorry for the innocent babies that get caught up in all this nonsense. We hear Chyna scored a temporary restraining order against Rob, then Kim Kardashian got involved accusing Chyna of breaking some confidentiality agreement, then Rob also apologized for his behavior.

Remember at the end of last month when Kylie & Kendall Jenner got into trouble on social media after putting images of dead icons on their vintage t-shirt collection? The t-shirts were pulled from their store soon after Sharon Osbourne and Biggie’s mother Voletta made it known they were not happy with the Jenner sisters. The girls did issue an apology but fast forward, it seems they are not off the hook yet. Tupac Shakur’s photographer has filed a lawsuit against them for using 2 of his images without his permission. This is way too much. I can’t keep up with this family.

We continue on reality TV. Love and Hiphop Atlanta’s Joseline Hernandez says she has quit the show and her exit is as dramatic as she is. Joseline went in on the big boss, Mona Scott Young and VH1 spilling all kinds of tea from Rooibos to English Breakfast, to Green Tea you name it. She says she was used by the show, turned into something she’s not and that she is being owed money by Mona.

Her friend, Love and HipHop ATL cast member, K Michelle took to IG to show the world that she was on Mona Scott’s side because Mona gave her a chance blah blah blah. As expected, that didn’t sit well with Joseline. One thing Joseline doesn’t like is someone who is two faced. If you’re straddling the fence, she will call you out, and so she did with K Michelle and that opened a whole lot of fireworks. K Michelle went on to expose Joseline calling her a crack head. Joseline fired back and called out K Michelle on her motherhood skills saying she is not the mother of her son because her mama is raising the son for her.

Listen, I don’t like friends like K Michelle who expose their friends when they have a fall out.  She’s very childish and she will do anything to remain relevant. With her talent I don’t know why she’s kissing ass to be on a reality show that’s not hers or about her. Mona Scott is messy too. Now they are exposing how ‘difficult’ Joseline was to work with only because she has turned on them. All these seasons they saw nothing wrong with her behavior no matter what she did because she pulled in huge numbers for the show. She was everyone’s storyline. She was THE star. So they must spare us this petty drama and accept that THEY created a monster out of Joseline.

In another Joseline explosion, she also had a Twitter fight with her ex, Stevie J’s daughter Savannah. I was not surprised by Savannah talking bad things about Joseline because those Jordan girls always have Joseline in their mouths. As expected, Joseline got upset and responded to Savannah via Twitter. In her response she didn’t care that Savannah is 18years old, she went all in. When people told her to not say such things to a child, she told them to sit down. ‘She’s not a kid. She’s 18. If she can dish it, she must be able to take it. She started with me.’ LMAO!!

South African Kwaito artist, Brickz remains behind bars after being found guilty of rape. This goes back to a case that was opened against him almost 4years ago. He was accused of raping his 17year old niece. One of the witnesses was his wife Nqobile Ndlovu. If all women could take a leaf out of Nqobile’s book, all these child molesters and rapists wouldn’t be getting away with ‘murder’ the way they do. We need to protect our children ladies. No matter how much you love that man, if he touches a child, it’s a wrap. Put him behind bars. I am just wondering how many years Brickz is gonna get for this crime because they say the minimum is 15years. I guess we have to wait for the sentencing on the 20^th July.

I was shocked to read on Pulse Ghana about Ghanaian musician, Wanlov the Kubalor. He says he has slept with 300 women worldwide. 300 women??? Ok, this man is 36years old, that’s not too old an age for him to be sitting on 300 women. But then he’s a celebrity and travels the world with women throwing themselves at him. I get that. Still 300? Is that normal? Ok, by the way I have a 30year old brother that’s sitting on over 100 women. Let me stop judging Wanlov and pretend it’s normal.

The Netball World Youth Cup 2017 is in full swing in Botswana with 20 countries from around the world taking part. Some of the countries are Botswana, England, New Zealand, Spain, Fiji, Jamaica, South Africa, Uganda, Zimbabwe and Barbados. With day 6 kicking off today, we wonder who will reign supreme on day 9, when the curtain closes.

We need to take a moment and celebrate SA actress Terry Pheto. She has been nominated again. Just when we were in awe because of her nomination alongside Sanaa Lathan, Oprah Winfrey, Nia Long and Loretta Devine, we talked about HERE. Terry has added 3 more International nominations to her name at the 2017 International Achievement Recognition Awards (#IARA2017). She’s nominated in the following categories;

• Best International Actress 2017 (A United Kingdom)
• Best Actress 2017 (A United Kingdom)
• Best Actress – TV or Drama 2017 (Nelson Mandela)
