Netflix South Africa has always been known for setting the standard when it comes to the press activations that they put together to celebrate the release of a new production.
The press day for the upcoming crime drama Umthetho maintained this standard.
The attendees of the event which was a mixture of entertainment journalists, influencers and celebrities were transported to a prison themed experience where fashion met mystery.
Entertainment commentator Jabulani McDonald described the experience as “It was surreal, it all felt like we were on the set of the show.”
The lead actors of the drama such as Nqobile Nunu Gumede, Tony Kgoroge, SK Khoza, Sindi Dhlathu amongst others were in attendance.
The state of the entertainment industry is very interesting at the moment, but such occasions which celebrate the work that is put in by all the individuals that work effortlessly to put together such groundbreaking productions inspire upcoming actors, directors, producers and communicates the message that success within the industry is possible.
‘Umthetho’ will be available to stream on Netflix from 14 August 2026.
