The 2025 HollywoodBets Durban July, held this past weekend, once again delivered its signature blend of fashion, horse racing, and star power. Known for drawing South Africa’s top celebrities, influencers, and socialites, the event dominated conversations all weekend long.
Cele’s collection, which drew inspiration from the bold and vibrant Ndebele culture, paid tribute to legendary South African artist Esther Mahlangu – one of the country’s most renowned creative exports.

But beyond the glamour, the event also provides a valuable platform for emerging designers who represent the future of the local fashion industry.
This year’s HollywoodBets Young Designer Award was won by Andile Cele, a talented student from uMgungundlovu TVET College.
