Friday the 9th of August South Africa celebrated Women’s Day and also welcomed the new Miss South Africa, Zozibini Tunzi.
The glamourous Miss SA 2019 beauty pageant took place at Sun Arena, Time Square in Pretoria. This year we had an all female panel of judges it was impressive to see Mbokodo leading. The judges were; Anele Mdoda, Catriona Gray, Connie Ferguson, Demi-leigh Nel-Peters and Thando Hopa.
25year old Zozibini is from the Eastern Cape, and this was her second time aiming for the Miss SA crown. She was a semi finalist in the pageant in 2017. In 2019 she came back to win it. If you don’t succeed the first time, get back up and try again.
She’s beautiful and unfazed by negative comments about her. Zozi is in Public Relations and that gives her the boost in handling whatever negativity thrown her way. The fact that she has short hair doesn’t mean she won’t do well on the international stage. We’ve witnessed the likes of Jamaica’s Kaci Fennell making it to the top 5 in the Miss Universe pageant. It’s clear that the world is evolving, you don’t have to rock a weave, wig or have long hair to get that crown.
I didn’t like this dress but I love how sharp and smart she is and that’s what I choose to focus on. She answered her questions perfectly and with so much confidence. I am still unimpressed with her runner up, Sasha Lee Laurel Olivier. Sasha is very beautiful but her answers were both terrible. I truly believe mzansi could have had a much more deserving runner up. Any of the other 3 contestants that made it to the Top 5, deserved the runner up spot. #MyOpinion
She took home this crown designed by American Swiss and 3 Million Rand worth of prizes.
Congratulations to the new Queen, we can’t wait to support you as you carry the crown to the Miss Universe pageant. We will be here rooting for you Zozi.
