News Update: Let’s Take A Trip Around The World!

From Politics to Sport to Entertainment, the world of News has it all. Let’s take a look at a few stories that grabbed our attention recently.

The first lady of Zimbabwe, Grace Mugabe has been trending on social media for 2 days now. She allegedly assaulted a 20year old Model at a hotel in South Africa on Sunday evening.

The young lady took to Twitter to let the world know what happened and even threatened legal action against Grace Mugabe. She went as far as posting pictures of herself.

Meanwhile the MEC for Gauteng Community Safety, Sizakele Nkosi-Malobane is asking Zimbabwe’ s first lady to hand herself in or face arrest. “We are now requesting that the first lady come forward. If not, police will ensure that she’s arrested and goes to court like any other person. We are also looking for her two sons.

It’s now official, Uhuru Kenyatta has been elected to lead Kenya for another term. He won the elections that took place over a week ago. This will be Uhuru’s second term. We do not know how free and fair these elections were considering blood was shed a few days before the elections. If you missed it, click HERE

Moving on to Sports News. I am assuming we all watched the IAAF World Championships that took place in London? We have officially said goodbye to Jamaica’s Usain Bolt. His final 100m race he came 3rd, with USA’s Justin Gatlin finally securing the #1 spot that he’s been fighting for. We know Gatlin is known for his doping tendencies, hopefully this time he was clean.

As if getting the Bronze wasn’t enough, Usain couldn’t finish his final race (4x100m relay) due to an injury which left not only his team mates in tears but a whole lot of people. His doctor confirmed that he suffered a hamstring cramp. His team mates and other Athletes including Justin Gatlin have complained that they waited for 45min in the call room before their race and that could have contributed to Usain Bolt’s injury. Usain started complaining about feeling cold during the long wait.

It’s a fact that Usain has made Athletics a sport to watch these years he’s been in the game. We will sure miss him. He has done it all and 30 seems like the right time for him to let it all go and just live his life. I think he made the right decision to retire while we still value him. Go well BOLT!! Still a win, still a legend. To di worl’ mi seh!!

Another athlete that has been trending as expected is none other than South Africa’s Caster Semenya. Caster won her gold medal in the 800m on Sunday leaving those that are bored livid. We are tired of hearing none Africans screaming ‘She is a man’. Leave Caster alone!! I am not even going to talk about Katie Hopkins’s ignorant tweets. I am not going to give her airtime that’s she’s longing for. Moving right along!!

Hip-hop legend, MC Lyte has tied the knot. Yes, at 46years old she said her first ‘I DO’ to her boo John Wyche in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Looking at her she doesn’t even look close to 46. Congrats to the newlyweds.

That’s it from our news desk for now.
