The new elected President of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa delivered his first State Of the Nation Address (SONA) on Friday evening. Political party members showed up in Cape Town and showed off on the red carpet and that’s what we like.
Let’s look at some of the pictures from the 2018 SONA Red carpet moments. The couples ruled as usual.
Former SA Police Commissioner, Bheki Cele with his gorgeous wife Thembeka Ngcobo
Thembeka looked like an angel
Minister of Finance, Malusi Gigaba with his wife Norma.
The Gigabas always own the red carpet.
Minister of Police, Fikile Mbalula with his wife Nozuko. We love that green, even her shoes got us going gaga.
Mandla Mandela with his wife Rabia Clarke
Mandla is another one that always stands out at the SONA red carpet every year.
Mr and Mrs Jeff Radebe. We love Mama Bridgette’s outfit
Jackson Mthembu with his wife Thembi
Dali Tambo also showed up with his first lady, Rachel.
The President of African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP) Rev Kenneth Meshoe with his wife Lydia in blue.
Democratic Alliance (DA) leader Mmusi Maimane with wife Natalie
The Minister of Arts & Culture Nathi Mthethwa with his wife.
Designer, David Tlale in all black as usual
DA’s Ouma Helen Zille in a maroon number
Minister of Small Businesses, Lindiwe Zulu stood out in her ANC colours
Nkosazana Dlamini -Zuma rocked the African print
IFP’s Mangosuthu Buthelezi
Former Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Mduduzi Manana shocked a lot on social media by showing up at SONA let alone posing for the media after being seen on video beating up a woman outside a club in Johannesburg last year.
Stella Ndabeni Abrahams
DA’s Phumzile van Damme
Nomvula Makonyane
Lol, we shall reserve our comments here
The Public Protector, Busisiwe Mkhwebane
EFF made their entrance in their usual red overalls. They have made it clear that the whole SONA fashion is unnecessary. Lol
The man himself, South Africa’s new president Cyril Ramaphosa with the 1st lady Tshepo Motsepe.
Who was your best dressed at SONA 2018? We go with The Celes, The Mandelas and The Gigabas. We also loved Mrs Mbalula’s green number.
