Ghana: Accra Blazes During The #ChaleWote2017 Street Art Festival.

The annual #ChaleWote2017 Street Art Festival kicked off in Accra, Ghana on the 14th and ended on the 20th of August 2017. This year the street art festival had more than 30 artists from around the world including countries like Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, South Africa, Zambia, Nigeria, UK and the USA.

The Chale Wote Art Festival is a platform that brings art, music, dance, and performance out into the streets of Ghana. It targets exchanges between scores of local and international artists and patrons by creating and appreciating art together.”

Chale Wote means Man Let’s Go! According to reports, last year over 30,000 people attended the festival. This year, that number doubled. This is definitely a good one for Ghana in terms of tourism because some people have added this festival to their calendars and make it a point to take that trip. After seeing this year’s pictures, I for one am adding it to my calendar. I have been planning a trip to Ghana for some time, so this gives me all the reasons to go there.

Anyway, let’s take a look at the pics from the #ChaleWote2017 Street Art Festival. The theme for this year was Wata Mata, which means Water Matter in West African pidgin. Among other activities, there were live performances, exhibitions, film screenings, workshops and artists talks.

No idea what was happening here, but this picture is gorgeous.

What type of underwear was this guy wearing? Lol, tents are popping out on each side…very confusing. Maybe it was part of the art? Mmmmh

She’s pretty but that T-Shirt is a big NO from me. This is why these low life men feel entitled to what belongs to us. Sigh!

I did say it was packed. I can spot a Jamaican in the crowd. Strrrrrrrait!!

AMEN!!!

The pictures have done the talking. One can never get used to the beauty of Africa and its people. The #ChaleWote2017 Street Art Festival shows that.
